Don't mess with Sister Morrison's music. She will fight you.

Hey y'all!
This is gonna be a short one because I have like 10 minutes to write. Oopsies!
First of all, God loves you and don't you dare forget that. But also don't forget that I love you too. Secondly, I love my life and everything here in Cumberland is amazing! Well, mostly. As my Bishop says, "Over in Berryville (another part of the mission,) they've got people moving in from Salt Lake every half hour. Here in Cumberland we've got people dying every half hour!"
And if that isn't the most accurate thing I've ever heard, then I don't know what is.
Long story short, this week was busy and amazing! I love staying busy and I love doing the Lord's work! I couldn't do ANYTHING I am doing now without the Savior's help. The people are amazing, it is starting to get cold and the leaves are changing so it's gorgeous, we're having a blast! Nothing has ever been more fulfilling in my entire life! I'm so very very happy!
My favorite lesson was with a lady named Angie. We taught the Restoration and it was so spiritual and amazing.
Favorite person this week was probably John and Anthony. I met them in the park and they thought we were Jehovah Witness girls. We had an amazing discussion and we got to chat a long time and it's amazing. I LOVE getting to share the gospel.
Really the food I eat is normal....so nothing to stick out....oh wait! I had some Buffalo Wild Wings and it was real yummy. My funniest moment was when we were calling the District leader and the entire time on the phone the District leader and his comp were yelling at each other about video games and other stupid things. I was rolling around laughing. So funny!
Miracle: meeting two guys because my companion has the smallest bladder in the world. They were awesome and super prepared and asked fantastic questions!
Best part about serving: everything, everything, everything. I get to spread the word of God and bring peace and happiness to the lives of those who have not heard his word.
My goals are to develop the Christ-like attribute of diligence and to commit some of our friends to baptism. I'm so excited for them!
Don't forget to pray and read your scriptures! The Book of Mormon is crucial!
All my love, Sister Morrison

Pray for America

Hello Friends and Family,
Another fantastic week is down, and I'm still loving every second!
This week was amazing! One super amazing experience was this past Saturday. I don't know if you've seen the latest Book of Mormon video, but it's all about the Liahona and other things, but mostly I want to mention the Liahona. Basically, the Liahona is a device used by the Prophet Lehi and his family as a compass, that was only usable when they had faith in it, and their Heavenly Father. Nowadays, we have something that works similarly to the Liahona, the influence of the Holy Ghost!
So Saturday night rolls around and we are in this little neighborhood as the sun is setting and it is slowly getting darker. We aren't sure how much longer we'd like to stay in the area because it is right next to a sketchy area, but we know we want to visit at least one more person. So off we go to see one of our friends. But as we began to get closer to her house, I didn't really feel like we should go see her. The Spirit kept telling me to head off in a completely opposite direction, so we just trusted and turned around. Every new street we would stop and listen to the promptings of which way we should head. We kept following and it got darker and spookier, and then finally, just when I was about to suggest we find a bathroom, I saw a lady sitting on her porch! We walked over to her and said hello, and it actually turned out to be a lady I had met before but hadn't been able to get in contact with for a month! It was super sweet and she told us she was moving and would invite us over soon! It was definitely a sweet miracle and reminded us that Heavenly Father is always guiding us and preparing His children to hear the good news of the gospel!
This week Sister Case got a random letter in the mail. It turned out to be a letter from a little girl who had just moved into her ward back home and wanted to be her penpal! It was so sweet and precious. Getting letters in the mail is so exciting for missionaries. Getting any kind of letter is exciting!
Also, we got to have a tea party! Herbal tea of course, but we had a tea tray with an actual teapot and cups, a honey dish with one of those cute honey dipper things, and muffins! It was from our friend Lillie who has my dream house. A huge kitchen, big windows and lots of open space. It was amazing! Such a pretty home. It almost has a modernized wood cabin feel. I'm just obsessed!
Funny story from this week: we were knocking on doors, and this guy answered the door. After we explained who we were and why we were here he told us he was sorry, but this house was an alternative living situation. He asked us what we thought it meant. We weren't sure so we asked what it meant. He looked me dead in the eye and said, "It means we all worship Satan." And I just said "Oh. Okay." And tried to think of a way we could bring these people Jesus without getting possessed. Luckily he was just joking and told us that he was messing with us, and that really it was more of an assisted living type of deal for the sick and feeble, so we weren't allowed to come in. Then he told us to go around the corner and visit his mom. It was hilarious and it was nice to meet a kind person who didn't want to send us away. Too bad he had to!
I guess I should address my email subject title because I really mean it! We got to watch a broadcast from President Ballard, an apostle of the Lord, yesterday. He said he has a new initiative for us! He said, "This country was built on prayers, preserved by prayers, and we need prayers now!" He invited us to let everyone else know, so this is me inviting you all to pray for America! After all, "In God We Trust."
I hope you all have a fantastic week! Remember that God loves you and He is guiding your life. Trust in Him, have faith that He knows what's best and follow the path that He has for you. I'm here to tell you that it can only bless you and bring you happiness. I know for a fact that it will all turn out far better than you could ever hope for yourself. You are all beautiful children of Him and are heirs to His kingdom. You have a wonderful potential!

Redneck Baltimore

Hey y'all!
It's been a week! I know you're all dyyyying to hear about my new companion so I won't make you wait. Her name is Sister Case. Basically, she's a Disney Princess. She's like five foot even, sweet as can be, and an absolute angel. We've been getting to work hard this past week and I have never loved being sore more than every night when I go to sleep.
Okay so we almost died and it was so hilarious. We were walking down the street and ran into these two guys who were working on a demolition derby car that had already been through a derby. So it was basically torn to pieces, and they were trying to salvage what they could for the next event. They stopped to talk to us and we were having a good conversation and chatting it up when their sister/girlfriend/whoever came out to ask them a question. Apparently the guy got bored with the conversation because all of a sudden he took his massive sledgehammer and just started waling on the car with all his might. Chunks of metal went flying and we took that as our cue to leave. The girl standing next to us got drilled in the forehead by flying shrapnel. It was the weirdest way I've ever ended a conversation.
Then later that night, we were walking around in an unfamiliar neighborhood and Sister Case had to pee sooo bad. She said, "Right now my bladder is basically smushing my lungs because it's so full," so we went up to the first house that looked like someone would be home, and asked to use their bathroom. The old guy who answered the door laughed, shook his head, and said "No, you can't do that," and shut the door as Sister Case is doing the potty dance on his porch. I was dying laughing. She was so mad. Luckily we were able to find a bathroom just in time but she was so peeved. It was so hilarious.
To give you a glimpse of the area I'm working in, my sweet Bishop described it in the most perfect way possible. He said, "It's basically the redneck Baltimore." Absolute perfection. If you didn't know, Baltimore has one of the highest crime rates in all of America. So imagine Baltimore and West Virginia had a baby, and that's Cumberland for ya. They even have drive-thru windows for alcohol. It's one of the funniest things I've ever seen.
Anywho, I can't even begin to express to you how awesome it is to be here. I absolutely 1000% love it. I am so excited to be able to share this wonderful news! That we do have a Savior and that He can extend His mercy and love. Heavenly Father sends His angels to protect you and guide you and lift you up. You have hope and happiness available to you! These are powerful and wonderful things! Don't discount joy and faith! You have Heaven's help and all these gifts just a prayer away.
Doctrine and Covenants 103:36 "All victory and glory is brought to pass unto you through your diligence, faithfulness, and prayers of faith."
I love you all so very much. Continue trusting in Him!
Love, Sister Morrison

GENERAL CONFERENCE

Dear friends and family,
I don't believe I can express to you well or fully enough how much I LOVE the church. And also our dear, sweet prophet. I know that Russell M. Nelson is called of Heavenly Father and that he is the only one able and capable to guide this church and this world! My heart was overflowing with happiness as I listened to the words of our Prophet and apostles and other church leaders.
One theme that I noticed throughout the sessions of General Conference was enduring with joy! Life can be extremely difficult. We all have experienced many trials and afflictions in our lives and truthfully, we have a lot to look forward to. And that's just it, if we can learn to look at our trials with a Heavenly perspective, we will see that true happiness and joy comes from not having trials, but learning from them and learning how to have a better attitude through them. Sometimes it can seem hard to smile when you only recognize the negative things in your life. But the Savior has taught us throughout His life to walk by grace and to love one another. The reason I'm so dang happy and joyful is because I know that everything is going to work out for our good! And this is because we have a Savior, Jesus Christ to rely on and turn to and have more peace in! What a huge, massive, fat blessing! There is no need to be afraid or be sad when you have someone like the Savior on your side!
So funny stories from the week!
I made cinnamon rolls for Conference. Obviously, if you've ever seen my mom's cinnamon rolls or tasted them, you know that bigger is better and if it doesn't have cream cheese frosting, you might as well give up. Well, I made my cinnamon rolls a normal massive size, and as I was dishing them out, every single person who walked by said: "these things are ginormous!" Yes. Yes, they are. So this little girl and her mom join us at the church with her friend and the girl came up and asked for a cinnamon roll. Of course, it was getting later and she probably shouldn't be eating sugar at that hour, but she wanted one and I couldn't refuse. So I take one out of the pan and give it to her and I kid you not, that thing was bigger than her entire head and she ate it so fast, if you blinked, you would've thought the cinnamon roll was just in your imagination. Sufficed to say, when that sugar hit her system, we were all done for. It was too much for her little body to handle. Her poor mother! πŸ˜‚
Also, we went to help one of our friends move this past week! It was really fun and we were laughing the whole time. It's his first apartment and his mom was frantically dusting and sanitizing everything in the apartment. She was a sweet lady. I moved a small table in and everyone kept asking, "You got it? Are you okay? Do you need help?" It was hilarious that they thought I needed help with just a small table. The trickiest part was the drawer that kept sliding out. It really wasn't terribly heavy but everyone stopped and just watched me to make sure I didn't drop it or hurt myself. It was adorable how worried his mom was! By far, my favorite part of the morning was the baggie that was outside of the back door stoop, nailed to the frame. It was a bag of 6 pennies and 1 dime and the word "hell" written on the inside. The guy we were helping said he threw it away and I told him he probably should have burned it πŸ˜‚ Scary and spooky stuff for this Spooky month.
As for transfers coming up this Wednesday, Sister Baroldy is being transferred out! I'm staying for a third transfer here and leading out this area a second time. It's not so scary. I'm excited to get new ideas and a new set of eyes on the place so I can work with a little extra effectiveness! I am sad to see her go, but she's gonna do great and I'm
excited to meet my new companion!
Have a fantastic week everyone! If you haven't gotten a chance to watch General Conference, I strongly encourage you all to do so. It is a revelatory experience, because it is the words and messages which your Father in Heaven wants you to hear!
I love you all! Thanks for joining us on this episode of Jiggy and Wigglepops. Don't ask questions (My companion dared me to end the email like this. Boom baby!)
Love, Sister Morrison
